Though it contains information that may be used by educators in the classroom, students, sonographers, or interpreting physicians, the primary goal of this book is to provide individuals a tool to effectively prepare for the certification examinations offered by the ARDMS and ARRT in the specialities of Abdomen and Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN).

In the front of each chapter you will find helpful terms with definitions. Throughout the chapters there are beneficial tables that contain both clinical and sonographic findings. This format allows for a quick, and yet thorough review. The narrative is easy to read and only contains the most vital facts about many topics. This edition includes "Sound Off" boxes that provide key details. Unlike many review books, this book contains many valuable diagrams and sonographic images as well. The book has 40 review questions per chapter (32 chapters),and the online component consists of over 800 intense mock-registry questions with rationales, an image bank, and PowerPoint presentations for instructors.

It can be stated without qualification that modern obstetrics and gynecology cannot be practiced without the use of diagnostic ultrasound, and in particular, the use of ultrasonogra phy. Ultrasonography quickly and safely provides detailed, high resolution images of the pelvic organs and gravid uterus. The quality and quantity of diagnostic information obtained by ultra sonography far exceeds anything previously available and has had a revolutionary impact on the management of patients. High resolution static images permit the intrauterine diagnosis of fetal growth retardation and fetal abnormalities.
